Four years ago, the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 76/254 in 2022 to designate 15 March as the International Day to Combat Islamophobia. The day provides an opportunity to express solidarity with victims of Islamophobia, highlight the threat it poses to the lives, dignity, and heritage of Muslims, and to international peace and security. It also calls on member states and societies to renew their commitment to counter Islamophobia in all its forms, through education, dialogue, and inclusive policies that protect the rights of Muslim communities and promote peaceful coexistence.
