AFP CONFIRMS ARREST OF FOUR-MAN NETWORK IN BONDI ATTACK PROBE

SYDNEY – In a major development in the investigation into the December 14th terrorist attack at Bondi Beach, Australian Federal Police Commissioner Krissy Barrett announced today that authorities have arrested and charged four individuals allegedly connected to the attackers.

"The evidence shows a clear division of labor," said a senior counter-terrorism official speaking on background. "While Sajid and Naveed Akram were the executors, this cell provided the framework that made the attack possible."

International Links Investigated

Commissioner Barrett confirmed that the investigation has now expanded internationally. "We are working closely with our partners in Indian security agencies to trace the origins of this network and determine if they were directed by or connected to any overseas extremist organization." Indian authorities are reportedly investigating family and financial links in Hyderabad, the Akram family's city of origin.

Government Response

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, in a separate statement, described the arrests as "a critical blow to a terrorist network operating on our soil." He announced an immediate review of visa screening processes for applicants from regions of security concern and a new parliamentary inquiry into the adequacy of resources for monitoring known extremist affiliates.
