The Government of Pakistan announced a temporary pause in the ongoing 'Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq' against terrorists and their support infrastructure in Afghanistan. The pause applies from midnight 18/19 March 2026 to midnight 23/24 March 2026 in view of Eid-ul-Fitr and at the request of the brotherly Islamic states Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Türkiye. The gesture is offered in good faith and in keeping with Islamic norms. If any cross-border attack, drone strike, or terrorist incident occurs inside Pakistan during the pause, the operation will immediately resume with renewed intensity.
