ISPR's official statement from Rawalpindi, dated 14 March 2026, details events from 13 March 2026 when the Afghan Taliban launched a few rudimentary drones aimed at harassing Pakistan. The drones were intercepted using both soft and hard kill measures and did not reach their intended targets. However, debris from the intercepted drones injured two children in Quetta and one civilian each in Kohat and Rawalpindi. The statement accuses the Taliban of trying to spread fear while portraying themselves as victims to gain international sympathy, and of using terrorist proxies to attack civilians. It asserts that Pakistan's Armed Forces are fully aware of the Taliban’s true intentions and will continue Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq until Pakistan's core concerns regarding terrorism originating from Afghan soil are addressed. The forces remain steadfast in the fight against terrorism in all its forms and will defend the Pakistani people against terrorists and their facilitators, not flinching in the face of provocations.
