Dushanbe — November 27, 2025:
An armed attack was carried out late on the night of November 26 on the employees’ camp of LLC Shohin SM, located within the control zone of the 1st Border Guard Post Istiqlol of the Yol Border Detachment in Tajikistan’s Khatlon region. The assault reportedly originated from the territory of Afghanistan.
According to official information, the attackers used an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) equipped with grenades and firearms to strike the camp. The attack resulted in the deaths of three employees of LLC Shohin SM, all of whom were Chinese nationals.
Authorities noted that despite Tajikistan’s continuous efforts to maintain peace, stability, and security along the Tajikistan–Afghanistan border, criminal groups operating inside Afghanistan continue to carry out destabilizing actions.
The Tajik government expressed deep concern and strongly condemned the attack, calling it an act of terrorism. Officials urged Afghanistan’s ruling authorities to take immediate and effective measures to ensure security along the shared border and prevent further incidents.
